Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Blue Olive Partners, LLC, Ed Weinfurtner, is an entrepreneur at heart. A graduate of Harvard University, Ed has been an owner, investor, and operator of multiple privately held businesses in a variety of industries over the past 35 years. He is a proven business executive and entrepreneur with a history of creating value, generating growth and profitability. He has a deep understanding of manufacturing and distribution businesses and direct experience in multiple industries including: electronic interconnect, building materials, specialty chemicals, safety apparel, fenestration, electronic cable assembly & contract manufacturing, metals & value-added service centers, signage, construction, and home improvement.
Ed was a co-owner of Alliance Metals, Gateway Megatech, Maverick Electronics, Ohio Associated Enterprises, and Deco Sign Crafters. Ohio Associated Enterprises, LLC, is a holding company of four related electronics businesses: Meritec, Joy Signal Technology, Connectors Unlimited, and Xponet/Mold-Tech. These companies are innovative designers and global manufacturers of high performance / high speed electronic interconnect products. He was an Executive VP for the Pella Window and Door Company and Heilind Electronics, the largest electronic interconnect distributor in North America, as well as CEO for Seegott, Inc. a national specialty chemical distributor. He co-founded both Maverick Electronics and Mega Techway, Inc. which are now mid-sized international electronic cable assembly businesses. Ed currently serves as an investor and board member at Paradigm Windows and Mega Techway Inc., and he is a board advisor for National Safety Apparel and the CapitalWorks private equity firm .
Currently, Ed serves as Managing Partner and co-owner of Great Day Improvements, parent company of the well-known Patio Enclosures sunroom and Stanek Windows brands, as well as newly acquired Hartshorn Custom Contracting, a Tampa-based pool enclosure company. Great Day employs over 478 people serving 38 metropolitan markets throughout the United States. Since Ed acquired the business in 2014 it has nearly quadrupled in size and is now ranked as one of the Top 25 largest residential remodeling companies in the US.
Blue Olive Partner, Ben Sheridan, has 30 years of experience as a general manager and marketer of financial services products. Co-founder of Woodside Health, a commercial real estate company that acquires and manages medical office buildings nationwide, Ben brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the real estate sector.
Ben is currently President of Dearborn Supply, a rapidly growing e-commerce company that provides the highest quality brands with equally high-quality customer service.
Through Blue Durham Properties, he financed 50 residential real estate transactions. His background includes experience with several disciplines, including product development, finance, sales, and branding.
Ben served as a general manager of several divisions at Progressive Insurance Company. He had P&L responsibility for various business units over his 15-year career there, his largest having revenue of almost $3 billion. At Progressive, he gained extensive experience in direct marketing, brand launches, and new pricing methodologies. Prior to Progressive, Ben was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company as well as a financial consultant at Arthur Andersen & Company. He also ran two small companies, one of which he founded and sold.
Ben is an active investor in early stage companies and real estate. He’s on the executive committee of the board of directors of Montefiore Home, a leading non-profit organization involved in senior healthcare and housing. Additionally, Ben serves on several advisory and governance boards.
Ben holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University and B.A. from Duke University.
Blue Olive Partner, George L. Buzzy, is a senior executive with experience leading companies at various stages, including large Fortune 500 and smaller, middle-market companies. George has an extensive M&A background as an operator, buyer and seller and is the Chairman of Buzzy Capital, LLC, a direct investment company investing in private equity, venture capital and other direct investments. In addition, George proudly served as an Entrepreneur in Residence for the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network.
Previously, George was the CEO and a shareholder at Novagard Solutions, a specialty chemical manufacturer. Prior to Novagard, George was the COO/CFO at Datavantage, a private equity backed software company which provides retail software and support to Fortune 1000 companies worldwide. Datavantage was sold to Micros Retail (now Oracle). Before that, George was the CEO of American Medical Response’s Great Lakes Region, the world's largest emergency medical services provider. George started his career at Deloitte where he was a Manager in the Middle Market Consulting Group.
George is an active business leader, an investor and serves as a shareholder and board member of several companies. Moreover, George is a CPA and a life member of Mensa International.
